Das Oath CoverNot having the same roots as your label mates in the San Diego post art core scene can have its benefits. For one obvious aspect you may find that your band need not stand on only the strength of the bands you were previously in, as it is continuously named dropped in every introduction. And this half New York half Netherlands outfit has accomplished this with another offering of maniacal hardcore chaotic-ism.

Formed in 1999 when the duo of singer Mark McCoy and guitarist Nate Wilson of NYC joined forces with the budding Zoo Crew of the Netherlands, they seemed destined to bloody and maim the levied status of hardcore punk and thrash. The chemistry between Jeroen Vrijhoef on guitar and Marcel Wiebenga on drums may seem always on the lunatic fringe of high velocity collapse but a few seconds of McCoy’s banshee caterwauling will grapple it all into place. Barrages of accelerated chants at break neck speed rupture over the tension of the bands other members to sustain such a dizzyingly frenetic pace.
Don’t mistake this for a contemporary hardcore or metal-influence delusion; these guys play faster for seven songs than most bands will ever conceive their entire careers
