HYPEzine.com is an online music magazine based in San Diego, CA for those who want to know about the next up-and-coming artist and stay informed of all the great new music bubbling to the surface.
HYPEzine.com launched in March of 2007 as an accompaniment to HYPEscene.com, which is a free electronic press kit (EPK) syndication system for bands.

1. Can anyone write for HYPEzine.com? No. But we'd love to hear from you if you are interested. There is a ton of music out there and is always a need for passionate and reliable record reviewers and folks to interview bands. At present, there is no pay.
2. My business would like to advertise on HYPEzine.com. Can we? Yes, please send an email to Shane or refer to our ad rates at the bottom of the page.
3. Does HYPEzine.com have an RSS feed? Yes.
4. Do you guys take submissions from bands that aren’t on labels? Yes of course we do, labels don’t have a monopoly on good music and sometimes it takes a good review or interview of a band to get them to that point.
5. What should my band send as a submission? Just a CD and brief explanation of what the bands sounds like along with relevant contact info, myspace page, or website. Don’t waste your money on a fancy press kit and more importantly don’t waste the paper if you don’t have to. We happily take digital submissions.
6. How do you decide to do features on bands? That is up to the availability of our writers, a dedicated and passionate bunch whose difference in taste is what makes HYPEzine so diverse – basically if you want to get a record review done by one of our writers, send them an email and ask if they would like to interview you then we can work something out.
7. How often does HYPEzine.com publish new features, spotlights and reviews? We publish new features and Spotlights monthly and reviews weekly. | Hypezine.com Ad Space:
Its not cheap to keep this site up and running, while it’d be ideal to have a totally non-profit site the reality is that it costs money to ensure we give our visitors fresh content.

We give discounts for purchasing multiple months, returning customers, and independent local artists or businesses!
How to Purchase an Ad:
E-mail shanejr(at)gmail.com and let him know what spot you want to advertise in and what dates you want to advertise for; he'll take care of the rest. Also, don't hesitate to e-mail him with any questions.
Info on File Formats:
-.jpg, .gif (animated or still image). (.swf) files
- The lower the file size of your ad, the faster it will load, and the more people will see it. We recommend keeping banners to 40kb max.
- The rectangles on the sides of the pages are 175X(any size height wise)
You may also email us to discuss other ways of advertising such as email campaigns (50K listserve of music loving youth) or sponsored pages; i.e. your company can opt to sponsor a featured artist or spotlight artist for the month.
